Child Care and Safety

The safety and wellbeing of every child in our care is our highest priority. We maintain rigorous safety protocols at all times.

Licensing & Compliance

AB Montessori is fully licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). We meet or exceed all state health, safety, and staffing requirements and undergo regular inspections.

Staff Qualifications

• All staff are background-checked through the state registry
• CPR and First Aid certified (renewed annually)
• Trained in child abuse recognition and mandatory reporting
• Ongoing professional development in early childhood education

Facility Safety

• Secure entry — only authorized adults may enter
• Fenced outdoor play area
• Age-appropriate toys and materials
• Daily sanitization of all surfaces and materials
• Smoke-free, pet-free environment

Illness Policy

To protect all children, we ask that sick children stay home. A child with a fever of 100°F or higher, vomiting, diarrhea, or a contagious illness must be fever-free and symptom-free for 24 hours before returning. We will contact parents promptly if a child becomes ill during the day.

Emergency Procedures

We have written emergency and evacuation plans in place. Parents are notified immediately of any incident, injury, or emergency involving their child. Incident reports are completed and provided to families for any injury or unusual event.
